A Marlow school is closed today after a “total loss” of electricity.

Engineers from the electricity board are expected have worked overnight at Great Marlow School to investigate the problem, with the school telling parents yesterday (Tuesday) that it was “highly likely” there would be no power on the main school site in the morning.

This morning, the school wrote on its website that the main site was still without power and that it would remain closed.

It said the Redgrave Sports Centre has not been affected by the power failure, adding: “At this moment in time, we are hoping that power will be restored during the course of the day and we will be able to run the scheduled Year 11 Parents Evening.

“If this situation changes and we have to postpone the evening, this will be communicated via ParentMail and the website during the course of the day.”

All updates on the situation will be communicated to parents by email and on the school’s website throughout the day.
