A NEW cat clinic at a veterinary hospital in Bracknell has been officially opened with the help of local school children.

Moor Cottage Veterinary Hospital in Binfield have opened the £180,000 cat clinic by cutting down a ribbon.

Earlier this month the hospital launched a competition, where pupils from the Binfield Primary School were asked to draw a picture of their favourite cat.

The three winners were invited to cut the ribbon at the launch of the cat clinic.

Roberta Duncan, clinical director at Moor Cottage, said: “It was a terrific day and we’re very grateful to the children for helping with the launch.

“We are very much a community-focused vets, so it was lovely to welcome the children, their families and members of the public to give them a behind-the-scenes look at the centre."

The veterinary had extensive renovations to create the treatment centre dedicated to cats and has been approved as a gold standard cat-friendly clinic by the prestigious International Society of Feline Medicine.

Mr Duncan added: “We have invested a lot of time and money to provide first-class facilities and equipment which is focused on feline care and treatment.

“The cat clinic is a completely separate bespoke building for cats to help provide a stress-free environment for them, and all our staff are trained in feline-friendly care.

“It’s all to ensure our cats receive the best possible care from the moment they come through the door to the time they go home.”

The veterinary hospital has been serving the local community for more than 50 years. For more information on the treatment available for cats at Moor House, visit: www.mcvh.co.uk.
