THE Bracknell Unite Branch has announced that they donated £2,570 to a range of good causes last year.

The donations were made to a range of local organisations including the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service, South Hill Park Trust and the Bracknell Foodbank.

The local Bracknell group also gave a total of £600 to a variety of groups campaigning for affordable housing.

Ed Glasson, branch secretary for Bracknell Unite, said: "The local Unite Branch had 500 members and an annual income of £4000.

"Being run by volunteers, it was able to discharge all its responsibilities and still find more than £3000 each year to give to other voluntary groups doing vital work in the wider community. "

Unite is a campaigning union, which fights back for employees in the workplace, protecting workers' rights and money was also donated

to help find better working conditions for underpaid jobs.
