A CARE home company is calling for more carers for the elderly as demands continue to grow.

The campaign 'You Can Care' by Home Instead Senior Care is looking to recruit 84 carers to join its team to care for old people.

The company in Ascot, Camberley and Wokingham relaunched the scheme and has expanded by 20 per cent, showing how a demand for carers has never been so needed.

Maggie Martin, owner of Home Instead Ascot said: "The idea behind the 'You Can Care' campaign is to call out to people who may not have though about a career in care.

"As our population continues to age, we are continuing to build out team with kind and compassionate people who want to make a difference to the elderly in the local community."

Statistics from independent charity Skill for Care reveal 8 per cent of roles in adult social care are vacant, which is an average of 110,000 vacancies at any one time suggesting the sector is struggling to keep up with ageing population.

Claire Law, a carer for Home Instead explained the role: "What an amazing, lovely year I have had at Home Instead. I decided last year I wanted a job that would make a difference to peoples lives.

"I was nervous when I went for my interview but I was put at ease in seconds. I got the job and started my first day of training with the loveliest lady ever and was matched with my first client the week after."

The care company provides services tailored to meet the needs of individual clients and is flexible from s little as one to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
