AN MP from Bracknell Forest Council has presented a certificate to a school for helping close the gap between education and employers.

Easthampstead Park Community School have been awarded with the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) Certificate by Dr Phillip Lee, MP for Bracknell.

The school has been part of the CEC Enterprise Adviser Network program for the past three years.

Dr Phillip Lee, Bracknell MP said: “It was a great pleasure to present this certificate to the Easthampstead Park Community School.

“In an ever-changing world of work, with a very competitive international employment landscape, it is vital that students are provided with valuable work experiences to improve their skills, resilience, and in so doing enhance their chances of careers success.”

During their involvement the school have helped reached several milestones in the program, which include improving employability opportunities for young people and ensuring that they have access to meet with employers.

Liz Cook, a representative from Easthampstead Park Community School said: “The school has a comprehensive program to support our students in developing knowledge and understanding of career and enterprise pathways.

“We are grateful for the support of a number of key businesses within Bracknell who are investing time and energy in supporting students.”

“Mentoring programs, challenge opportunities, visits and the opportunity to engage with a business ambassador have been warmly welcomed by students who have participated.”

There are currently 32 Enterprise Advisers paired with schools across Berkshire, they volunteer to help children understand businesses and make the most of job opportunities.
