A MAN has been sentenced to six and half years for attempted grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving after a woman was struck by a car.
Brendan Wooff, 35 from Twyford was found guilty on Thursday 10 following a four-day trial at Reading Crown Court.
At around 2am on January 1, 2017 Wooff drove a car at a 35-year-old woman in Rainbow Park.
He then tried to drive into the victim again on Azalea Close and collided into bollards.
The woman suffered bruising as a result of being struck by the car.
Woof was charged with the offences on October 5 2018 before being found guilty at court.
He was sentenced to six years in prison, received a driving ban for five years and made subject to an indefinite restraining order.
Investigating officer PC Zoe Eele of Bracknell and Wokingham investigation hub said: "This was a complex investigation and thanks to the tenacity of the officers investigating and the bravery and co-operation of the victim in this case, Wooff will now serve a lengthy custodial sentence.
“This was a shocking incident and it was just good fortune that the victim was not more seriously injured.
“I hope that this sentence will bring some comfort to her.”
