THR ARTS Society Ascot has launched its new project with a permanent art exhibition inside Ascot train station.

The project, called Art @ the Station displays artwork produced by pupils from local schools and was launched by The Arts Society Ascot on Friday, December 14.

The first pieces of art that are up at the station have been created by pupils from the Marist School, Cheapside School and the Licensed Victuallers’ School.

The display will be changed around every few months to allow different schools to have their art exhibited.

Rosemary Goulbourn President and founder of The Arts Society Ascot, said: “Let’s hope these lovely displays will catch the eye of lots of travellers and local people.”

Representatives of the first contributing schools and children who created the artwork where present at the launch.

Barclay Interiors, who are based in Ascot High-street have been sponsoring the project and were also there to see the new display.

The Arts Society Ascot aims to inspire young people with enthusiasm for art and help promote artistic work from local schools.
