A GANG of seven men wearing balaclavas stormed into a property armed with weapons before stealing items.

An investigation has been launched into the terrifying ordeal, which saw a pensioner suffer injuries as the men forced their way into the house.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm on December 5 in West Drive, Sonning.

As well as the man in his 70s, who sustained a head and hip injury, there was a woman in her 50s and a teenager in the house at the time.

Police constable Ryan Smith, of Newbury police station, said: “This is a concerning incident for the victims involved in this case.

“It was fortunate that no-one was seriously hurt.

“We would therefore like to hear from anyone who may have details about this incident, please contact police if you saw what happened or think you recognise the description of these men or saw them prior to this incident.”

All the men are described as wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black jackets and wearing black balaclavas, gloves and muddy trainers.

Six of the offenders are believed to be black men and one was white.

It is believed items were stolen, but currently it is not clear what these items were.

The offenders left by the back entrance of the property and into the gardens behind.
