A FAMOUS duo have toured Bracknell to hunt down antiques as they star in a show broadcasted on the BBC.

Countryfile presenters, Charlotte Smith and Tom Heap, will be appearing in the BBC series Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, as they visit Bracknell on the hunt for antiques at a low price.

Each episode follows a different set of celebrities in locations around the UK, as they search for antiques before selling them at auction.

John Redshaw, series producer at STV Productions, said: “It’s always exciting to hit the road with a new set of celebrities, and this series is no exception. We have a brilliant line-up of competing stars going head-to-head on the antiques trail and I think viewers will love following their road trips as they track down weird and wonderful bargains in antique shops around the country.”

The series has been running for eight years, other celebrates who have already taken on the road trip include Russel Kane, Peter Andre and Denise Van Outen.

The programme has been broadcasted on BBC TWO since Monday, November 5 and is the eighth series of the successful STV production.

Mr Redshaw added: “Some of the more interesting items found during the series include a vintage vaulting horse uncovered by Joe Pasquale, emblazoned with the name of its former owner - HMP Broadmoor. Denise van Outen made an unlikely purchase of a plough, whereas Claire Sweeney pinned her hopes on a toy tank. There is even a bit of scandal in this series with an accusation of foul play when an antique is damaged at auction by the opposing team.”

The episode, filmed in Bracknell will be shown on BBC Two at 7pm on Thursday, December 13.
