SLOUGH'S 3rd guides, brownies and rainbows teamed up to hold their Christmas fair at the Baptist Church in Windsor Road on Saturday.

Each made their own special contribution to the event.

The rainbows who are under eight ran a costume stall that enabled visitors to dress up and be photographed in suitable Christmas garb.

Andrew and Vicki Nankivell had a go at being Santa and a helper. They are keen supporters of the guides having had two daughters as members.

The brownies ran a tombola stall and offered people the chance to paint their own design on a plate or mug they could take away.

The guides ran a tombola and sold Christmas gifts, raising £1,675.

Guide leader Lesley Ashton said: "It will help with the education of 10 girls in Nepal providing them with equipment and uniforms.

"We also support an orphanage in Katmandu."

The guides are no strangers to Nepal and hope to visit again in Easter 2020 to do some voluntary work and catch up with the girls they are helping.
