A MURDER investigation is underway after a man who was found injured in the road later died at the scene.

Police officers and South Central Ambulance Service were called to Nine Mile Ride shortly after 2pm on November 5 after an injured man was found in the road.

Emergency services provided medical treatment to the man but he died at the scene.

A man aged in his 20s from Wokingham and a woman in her 20s from Bracknell were arrested on Monday evening on suspicion of murder.

They are currently in police custody.

A scenewatch was put in place in the area while officers conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances and a murder investigation has been launched.

The road remains closed at this time, and a diversion is in place while officers continue to investigate the incident.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers

Detective superintendent Ian Hunter, head of the Major Crime unit, said: "We have made two arrests in connection with this incident, and are continuing with our investigation.

“We are in the very early stages of enquiries and have launched a murder investigation.

“I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in Nine Mile Ride near the New Acres Caravan Site and Pineridge Park Homes at around 2pm on Monday (5/11) to contact police.

"If you have any details which you think may assist our investigation, please come forward and speak to officers.

“We will keep the community updated once further information is available.”
