CONSTRUCTION work on a substantial housing development in Sandhurst has begun.

Bloor Homes has started on the first homes at Sandhurst Garden, a development consisting of 108 new homes on 26 acres of land off High Street.

When complete, the new development will comprise a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, public open space and a new community building which will be handed over to the Town Council.

As-well-as providing much-needed homes for the area, it will also be contributing more than £1m towards local services and infrastructure.

John Lusty, regional managing director of Bloor Homes Southern, said: “We are proud to be delivering the most significant new housing development in Sandhurst’s recent history and we are delighted to have started construction work on the first homes.

“There is a high demand for housing in this area and the range of homes we are building at Sandhurst Gardens will cater for a diverse mix of buyers, from first-time buyers to growing families, which will help local people find a new property close to home.

“As this is something of a landmark development for the town, the volume of interest we have received for the first homes has been high and I would urge home-hunters to act quickly in registering their interest.

“We are hoping to open the development to the public and release the first homes for sale in November.”

Of the 135 new homes being built at the development, a total of 27 will be made available as affordable housing.

The first homes to be released at Sandhurst Gardens will include two-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom semi-detached properties and a four-bedroom detached house.
