SINGERS from a choir in Bracknell wowed the crowds in London as they performed during the world-famous BBC Proms in the Park.

The 80-strong Bracknell & Ascot Rock Choir, led by Lucy Hewes, were joined by Rock Choir founder Caroline Redman Lusher on-stage in Hyde Park on September 8.

Singing in front of 40,000 people, the choir joined 10,000 other members of Rock Choir from around the country in a surprise flash-mob singing Dancing in the Street.

Lucy said: "I'm so proud of my choir members. Everyone came together and performed perfectly in what was an historic and high-profile event created by the BBC. Members of the audience said it was like the event had surround sound.

"Bracknell & Ascot Rock Choir has new people joining all the time throughout the year, so for some choir members this would have been their first Rock Choir event, and what a first event to have! Everyone left on such a huge high, including myself, it really was a special day for us all."
