A THEATRE company is putting on a show for free in tune with the Christmas spirit of giving.

Wokingham’s Bottle Top Theatre Company will present the unique Live Nativity in the heart of Wokingham town.

The open-air show is part of the Town Council’s Living Advent Calendar which has been producing pop-up events throughout the month across the town.

The Live Nativity will start with magical family entertainment in the Market Square from 3pm, followed by a procession to Howard Palmer Gardens for the stage performance itself at 4pm.

Filled with all the excitement, awe and wonder of the traditional Christmas story this performance will be staged free of charge for everyone in Wokingham and the surrounding communities to enjoy.

“We were really excited when asked to be a part of Wokingham’s Living Advent Calendar,” said Anna Adams, co-founder of The Bottle Top Theatre Community.

“Our charity is all about equipping the local community with life skills and confidence using drama, and we are looking forward to staging Live Nativity for Wokingham Borough Council.

The Live Nativity will be free to attend, while raising money for four local charities:

l High Close School

l Building for the Future

l Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice

l Air Training Corps – 2499 (Wokingham) Squadron

“We are absolutely honoured to have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of Wokingham’s Living Advent Calendar this year,” said Jane Holmes, Chief Executive at Building for the Future.

“It is such a wonderful community event, which echoes the aims of our centre for disabled children. Our building opened earlier this year and is fast becoming an important local service.”

Fiona Devine, co-founder of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, adds: “Wokingham’s Live Nativity will be a magical and special way to celebrate Christmas, taking us right back to the original story.

“The impact our charity has on the children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families is immense and I’d like to thank Wokingham’s community from the bottom of my heart for supporting us.”
