A CHARITY run will bring a splash of colour to Reading in June.

Berkshire’s first ‘Rainbow Run’ – a 3km event where participants are showered with powdered paint in the colours of a rainbow – will take place at 11am at Prospect Park on Sunday, June 22.

The run, sponsored by The Chronicle, will raise cash for the Helen & Douglas House Hospice which cares for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions and supports their families.

Helen & Douglas House activities fundraiser Poppy Hanbury said: “The Rainbow Run is a unique event that reflects the ethos of Helen & Douglas House.

“It celebrates the magical place the hospice is and the joy and laughter it brings to so many families. It is about happiness and living life to the full.

“It’s less about the 10-minute-mile and more about having lots of fun with family and friends. This event is a perfect way to have fun and raise money for a great charity at the same time.”

Runners of all ages, abilities and fitness levels can take part. Entry is £12 for adults and £7.50 for children under 16.
