"It's not that I'm a racist or anything" said the taxi driver as I pulled away from the station. "It's just not fair that they come over 'ere and ruin our country". "Pardon, err, what, pardon, who are we talking about now, I'm lost sorry" I stammered back to him, before changing my mind and drifting off eagerly wanting to avoid this monotonous drivel.

Restaurant reviews: The Three Tuns, Slough
WE walked in through the back door of The Three Tuns in Slough and straight into the bar area. There is plenty of room in the car park off the Farnham Road and the building big, but nicely lit, spacious, yet cosy. The wall colours are warm, with very modern, beautiful wooden floors throughout. We sat by a window in one of the alcoved areas, Bath Road side. At least three other tables were occupied by noon and by 1pm another three tables filled with lunchgoers.

Opinion
Here lies a political career....and lies and lies
OVER the years it's become something of a truism that the way to tell politicians are lying is to check if their lips are moving. We had a variation on that theme on Monday night when TV news showed a montage of Chris Huhne denials.
