Cinema Release of the Week: Friday 11th March.

The movie of the week is Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.

Kung Fu Panda

It's a sad fact of life that most computer games based on films are, well a bit rubbish really. They tend to be fast-coded tie-ins aimed at getting some extra cash out of the parents of youngsters who fall in love with a particular character - after all who needs decent gameplay when you've got such an undiscerning market? With this in mind, I opened Kung Fu Panda with some trepidation. And that was even before I realised it starred the vocal talents of Jack Black who, for my money, is one of the most irritating actors working today.

Included in this weeks releases are Hancock, a somewhat uncoventional entry in the superhero genre starring Will Smith and Kung Fu Panda, an animated feature with Jack Black leading an all star cast.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

With the plethora of music-focused games coming out at the moment my wireless guitar has never been so busy. But with so many different games giving you the chance to harness your inner rock god (or indeed goddess) all vying for your cash, is Guitar Hero: Aerosmith worth opening your wallet?

Included in this weeks releases are The Edge of Love, a romantic drama about the life of the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, starring Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Matthew Rhys. Also showing from Friday is The Escapist, a prison drama with Brian Cox and Joseph Fiennes.

Lego Indiana Jones

George Lucas needs to stop. After the horror of the Star Wars prequels, this summer sees Indiana Jones dusted off - with the almost-septugenarian Harrison Ford putting the iconic hat on one more time. The film is, well, disappointingly mediocre.
