A total of 13 awards were presented on the night. Tilly Waight was named Most Improved Girl under the Learn to Dive Programme, with Alfie Cook taking the boys’ award.

Molly Lefever was named Best Girl Newcomer of the Year and James Ridley the Best Boy Newcomer, both having joined the competitive squads in 2014.

Billy Minns was recognised for improving significantly at novice level and Ethan Jones picked up the trophy for the Most Significant Progress as an advanced diver.

Recognition also went to Charlotte West, last year’s winner of the Team Spirit Award, who picked up the trophy for Most Supportive Diver.

Amy Watts, who is both a diver and junior coach, was recognised for her support of her teammates and during competition by winning the 2014 Team Spirit trophy.

There were two winners of the Challenge Cup as Jasmine McCullum and Lottie Gosling were recognised for their willingness to take on new dives.

Meanwhile, the Youth Coach Development Award went to Celie Mullen and The Mary Kinghorn Trophy, awarded by the divers to the coach who they feel has best contributed to their progression, went to Chris Beal.

The Keith Meek Award for outstanding contribution to the club was handed to Nicky Frewin.

The final two awards recognise overall excellence with James West, who at 10 is currently the youngest age group diver in the club, being the worthy recipient of the Chris Barker Shield for competition excellence.

Charlie Minns lifted the President’s Cup for outstanding attitude and achievement.

Seb Masterton made his British Gas Division Championship debut at Plymouth recently alongside Tom Daley and Jack Laugher, who began their campaigns for selection to the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Maiden Erlegh School pupil Masterton, 17, competed against Mears and Laugher on the 3m springboard.

He performed well but had to wait until the 1m event to claim a medal.

Up against Rio hopefuls Oliver Dingley and James Denny, Masterton executed a series of high-tarrif dives to secure the junior bronze medal with a personal best score over six dives, having narrowly missed out on silver.

Burghfield Common’s Chris Mears, the 2014 Commonwealth Games 3m synchro gold medalist, was also in action.

Albatross diver James West, 11, won a hat-trick of medals at the Armada Cup Diving Championships in Plymouth.

Competing against the best junior divers in the country, West entered the youngest age category and took gold on 1m, silver in 3m and bronze on platform.

Quinn Shaw was also a finalist and came sixth on 3m and fifth on platform.

Albatross divers also shone in the men’s 16-plus events where Charlie Minns won silver on 1m with a personal best performance.

Seb Masterton won bronze and he also bagged the same medal on 3m ahead of Hal Watts in fourth.

Minns returned to contest the men’s high board final and came fourth.

The whole team of 11 divers performed well with most achieving National Qualification scores.

Isabel Holloway, Molly Lefever, James Ridley, Aiden Jones, Zackary Cooper, Milly Orgill, Alfie Cook, William Frewin and Katie Wright competed in the Gavin Brown Diving Competition in Southampton recently.

Holloway took second on the 1m board in the girls’ 10-11 age group, with Lefever fourth.

Ridley (9th), Cooper (12th) and Jones (16th) competed on the 3m board in the boys’ 10-11 age group.

Frewin claimed gold on the 1m and 3m board in the boys’ 12-13 age group, with Cook seventh.

Orgill won bronze in the girls’ 12-13 age group, while Wright finished fourth in the girls’ 14-18 category.
