The Slough Junior Jets and Team Denmark
THE Slough Junior Jets under-16s benefited from an entertaining international challenge game which they eventually lost 10-7 to Team Denmark from Canada.
Earlier this month, the junior Jets welcomed Team Denmark, a touring side who had been visiting Europe to play in various tournaments in Denmark and Germany but wanted to play a further game during their two-day stopover in the United Kingdom, to the Hangar.
The game was very tight with the lead alternating between the two teams. Jets surprised their Canadian visitors with two quick well worked goals to take the lead 2-0.
Team Denmark then rallied with two goals of their own to level the score and the lead then changed hands again as the first period ended 4-4.
The second period was again equal with both teams giving 100 per cent and pressing hard to take the upper hand. The period ended with the sides locked at 6-6.
In the final period, the visitors made an extra push and despite plenty of effort and shots for the Jets, Team Denmark took their chances better and won the period 4-1 with a final score of 10-7 win to the Canadians.
All the Jets players can feel very proud of their performance and the very respectable score against a top class side.
