BRACKNELL skipper Ian Caffell admits his side has to improve on its batting after a disappointing campaign in Division 5a of the Thames Valley League.
The Larges Lane outfit just survived a second straight relegation as they finished one place and 11 points off the drop.
Batting was the big problem throughout the campaign and Caffell says plenty of work will be done in the nets in preparation for next year.
"We need to work on our batting techniques," he said. "I don't really think it's a technical flaw, it's just been a lack of concentration.
"We know we can do better. We will also be looking to recruit some new faces to the team during the winter to freshen things up a bit.
"It has been a disappointing season. I was hoping to be challenging for the dizzy heights of promotion but it wasn't to be.
"Now we just need to focus on improving things in time for next year."
Bracknell's flaws with the bat were exposed again last Saturday as they crashed to a 22-run home defeat against Stoke Green 2nds.
Caffell's men bowled superbly to skittle the visitors out for 106, but they were then dismantled by Ifraz who took 9-26 as the home side were dismissed for just 84.
The skipper said: "We put in a fantastic bowling and fielding display, but they had a player (Ifraz), who normally plays for their first team, in the side and he took us apart.
"It was the story of our season. The ball was swinging about and we just weren't a match for some accurate, swing bowling.
"It was very disappointing because we would have liked to have finished the season on a high."
