IN Division One of the Thames Valley League Bagshot travel to Amersham on Saturday knowing they will need a miracle to escape relegation.
Jeremy Davis' men were handed a crushing 83-run home defeat by Fleet last weekend and they now sit 19 points off safety.
Nothing but a convincing win will do this weekend and even then they still need other results to go their way.
Davis, however, is remaining defiant. He said: "We've still got a chance. If we can get a good win at Amersham and scores in other games go our way then we can catch three teams above us.
"We're hanging on to a very slim chance. The fat lady has not sung yet.
"The first thing I need to do is win the toss because Amersham tend to bat first and if we want to be able to catch Tring Park then we need to be going in first.
"We know it's a long shot but when there's still a chance you have to keep going so that's what we'll do."
Last weekend saw Baghsot heavily beaten at home by Fleet. Things looked good at first when the visitors were restricted to 180-9 but as has so often happened this season, Bagshot crumbled with the bat and were knocked over for just 97.
Davis said: "We got ourselves in a good position but the story of our season happened again and we just did not perform with the bat.
"I don't know why it keeps happening because we're the same bunch of guys who have performed well over the last few years. It's very frustrating."
