READING FC director of football Brian Tevreden is being linked with Vitesse Arnhem.

National media are reporting 35-year-old Tevreden is a target for Eredivisie club Vitesse as they step up their search for a new technical director after Mo Allach left to join Maccabi Haifa in Israel.

But Tevreden told the Reading Chronicle there is no truth in the rumour and that he is happy at Madejski Stadium.

"This is news for me," he said.

"It is really poor, I have no intention of leaving the club."

Tevreden joined Reading in 2016 and was put in charge of international football and development.

He was then promoted to director of football when Nick Hammond left to take up a similar role at Premier League West Bromwich Albion.

Tevreden worked with Royals boss Jaap Stam at Dutch giants Ajax and was instrumental in bringing the ex-Manchester United and Netherlands defender to Madejski Stadium in 2016 as a replacement for Brian McDermott.
