READING FC struck a late blow to deny Hull City their first away win of the season.

Second-half substitute Jon Dadi Bodvarsson had only been on the pitch for 11 minutes before he netted the equaliser.

Fraiser Campbell capitalised after the Royals' defence made a slow start to the game to give the visitors the advantage after 28 minutes.

Both sides came into the game with pressure mounting on their respective managers and sections of the home crowd could be heard booing when Hull took the lead and when Liam Kelly came off for Tiago Ilori in the second half.

Royals dominated the final 20 minutes of the game and generated plenty of interest down the wings through Garath McCleary and Jordan Obita.

Eventually the pressure resulted in a goal-scoring opportunity and Bodvarsson was able to atone for missing several chances in the defeat to Bristol City by prodding his shot beyond Allan McGregor.

The game ended in despair for Obita, who had to be stretchered down the tunnel after suffering a knee injury, while Reading remain in the bottom half of the table, having scored seven goals in eight league games.
