READING FC's Yakou Meite has today completed a season-long loan move away from Berkshire, the Chronicle can reveal.
The 21-year-old Ivorian has joined French Ligue 2 outfit FC Sochaux-Montbéliard until the end of the 2017/2018 season.
Meite joined Royals last summer from French giants Paris Saint-Germain but failed to force his way into Jaap Stam's first-team plans.
It is understood Meite was upset at the prospect of playing a bit-part role for the Royals next season and wanted to leave the club in order to play more games.
And Stam confirmed this week that Meite was available for a loan move in order to gain more experience.
He follows Denzell Gravenberch and young striker Andrija Novakovich who both secured loan moves to Belgium and Holland respectively.
Sandro Weiser is also free to leave the club on a temporary basis but Stam suggested he wants the Lichtenstein international to 'learn the English game'.
Fellow Royal Liam Moore wished Meite well on social media and the Chronicle understands the deal will be officially announced tonight.
