READING FC boss Jaap Stam has made four changes to the side which was crushed at the hands of Norwich City FC last week.

Joseph Mendes, Adrian Popa and Danny Williams all come in to the starting line-up today to face Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Fans had mixed responses after the teams were announced shortly after 2pm today.

Stam was furious after watching his side crumble at Carrow Road last Saturday, resulting in a 7-1 victory to the hosts.

In-form striker Yann Kermorgant and winger Garath McCleary make the substitute bench for today’s trip to in-form Aston Villa, who have top-scorer Jonathan Kodjia leading the line.

French forward Mendes makes his first start for the Royals since joining from Le Havre last summer, but Stam recently insisted the striker has a future in Berkshire.

Reading FC subs: Jaakkola, Evans, McCleary, Kermorgant, Meite, Ilori, Mutch.
