BRIAN Tevreden has rubbished speculation Reading FC are on the verge of signing young Ajax starlet Ezra Walian.

The 19-year-old forward, who currently plies his trade in the Jong Ajax development squad, is said to have attracted interest from Premier League clubs.

Foreign reports claim however that Reading FC have put an offer on the table for the youngster to make the switch to Berkshire when his contract expires at the end of the season.

But Royals' director of football Tevreden rubbished the link, adding: "Much like a lot of player-related speculation in the media, I can confirm that the club have not spoken to the player in question, we have no interest in offering him a contract and this is another transfer link with no foundation.”

Foreign media reported however that a deal was in place for Walian to join the Royals in the summer.

A post on Goal Indonesia, written by the player's Indonesian representative, reads: "There is an offer from English Championship club Reading FC for next season.

"He has been offered a role in the first-team and if he accepts the offer, it would of course be a great career leap for Ezra.

"There have been previous contract extension talks with Jong Ajax, but a deal has not yet been done.

"Later this year there will be more talks and Ezra will weigh up which one is best for his career.

Walian, who represents the Indonesian national team, has made 17 appearances for Jong Ajax this season, scoring three goals.

He made his international debut in a friendly match against Mayanmar on March 21.

He also represented Holland at under 19 level.
