READING FC suffered their worst defeat for more than a decade when they were thumped 7-1 at the hands of Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
The Canaries found themselves with a five-goal lead in the first half before Reading's Yann Kermorgant pulled a goal back for the Royals.
But it meant very little as Norwich scored a sixth straight after Kermorgant's strike before piling more misery on Stam's men with a seventh in the second-half.
Just last week, Bristol City FC announced the club would refund travelling supporters after they watched their team collapse to a 5-0 thumping by Simon Grayson's Preston North End.
Despite the heavy defeat, Reading remain firmly within reach of a play-off spot come the end of the season.
However, they face another tough test on Saturday when they travel to in-form Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Stam will be hoping for revenge after the Royals suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Villains at Madejski Stadium in October thanks to a late Jordan Ayew penalty.
