Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletics Club finished in seventh place at the National Under 20 Junior League Final on Sunday.

Having made the final as fourth placed Southern team, WSEH were always going to struggle to make a team impact with the top Northern and Midland, Scottish and Welsh clubs also amongst their opponents.

The WSEH team that made the trip to Derby was one of the youngest on show with many under-17 athletes drafted into the team to fill in for injury and holiday absentees.

The WSEH Ladies section was perhaps the hardest hit with several team members contesting four or more events to cover the gaps in the team. It was therefore not surprising that WSEH found themselves in seventh place.

There were some individual bright spots however. The Mens 200m saw 16-year-olds Deji Tobais (21.93secs) and Tom Evans (22.66 secs) amongst the medals with a silver and bronze apiece. WSEH's Junior International also figured in a hot 400m taking silver in 48.01 secs.

Competition was tough in the Ladies match and grabbing medal glory was out of reach for many of the WSEH athletes, but nonetheless they still made an effective team contribution.
