It's been a difficult week for Federici after his FA Cup semi-final blunder against Arsenal but he's bounced back with two good performances against Birmingham City and Brentford.
The keeper made a couple of top notch one-on-one saves in both games and could do little with the three goals conceded.
Federici fought off competition from Michael Hector and Jamie Mackie for the award, with the Aussie stopper winning the votes from fans for a string of superb performances throughout the season.
It is a fitting time to win the award for the 30-year-old, who is celebrating his tenth season at the club this year.
Federici becomes the first goalkeeper to win it for Reading since Shake Hislop over 20 years ago.
