That is the prediction of Sir John Madejski, now the club’s co-chairman alongside Khunying Sasima Srivikorn.

Royals have resisted the temptation cash-in on the stadium name since it was opened in 1998 following the club's move from Elm Park.

But more and more grounds from Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium to Derby County’s iPro Stadium now carry the name of a major sponsor.

Madejski, 73, expects the Thai consortium involved in the recent takeover will follow suit.

And he also hinted they will be looking to forge community links with Reading and pump cash into the surrounding area.

He told the Chronicle: “If they can find a sponsor willing to spend lots of money on naming rights then obviously that will happen, and so it should.

“There is the old saying that if it ain’t broken don’t fix it, but they are ambitious in terms of developing the football club.

“They really like the area and they are talking about the possibility of educational and property links.

“An awful lot will take place over the coming years, it’s an exciting time.”

Royals are now owned by three major investors, with Khunying Sasima Srivikorn, who becomes co-chairman alongside Madejski, taking 25%.

Khun Narin Niruttinanon has acquired 50% and Khun Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth the remaining 25%.

Reading host Wolves at Madejski Stadium this Sunday (1.15pm ko).

ADAM Federici has been named in Australia's 23-man squad for their friendlies with United Arab Emirates and Qatar in October.
