FORMER Bracknell Bees coach Adam Bicknell has ended speculation about a possible return to the Hive by signing for Warfield United FC.
Bicknell, who revealed to The News last month that he was thinking of taking up football, says he can"t wait to pull on his boots again.
He admits it will be strange not playing competitive ice hockey for the first time since he was 16, but believes the time is right for a change.
He said: 'I love football, even when I was playing hockey I always followed football closely.
'I watch it all the time and always look forward to the annual game at my school when the staff take on the sixth form.
'When I was younger I used to play up front but my legs have gone a bit now so I think I"ll be centre-back. I"m really looking forward to it.'
Warfield United were only formed last year and play in the Bracknell and District Sunday League. They were promoted to Division Three following a fine maiden campaign.
Chelsea fan Bicknell met his new team-mates last week at their end of season presentation night and they have quickly come up with a title for the 29-year-old.
'They are already calling me the elder statesmen,' he said. 'They are all about 24 or 25 so I"m bringing the average age up a bit.'
