JAMES Mepham grabbed a hat-trick as Eversley & California secured a thrilling 7-3 victory at Fleet Spurs in Combined Counties Division One on Saturday.

The Boars had hit the woodwork before Brad Brown collected a long Connor Allston throw in before firing them in front in the fourth minute.

Cameron Miller doubled the lead when he headed home from a corner then Joe Pantony’s penalty was saved by Spurs keeper Mark Appleby.

It was a brief reprieve as Eversley’s James Robertson made it 3-0 midway through the first half after the Spurs defence failed to deal with another cross.

Fleet reduced the arrears soon after through Tom Chillery’s superb free kick.

But hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed as Boars scored four more goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

The excellent Mepham notched another two to complete his hat-trick, with Cameron Miller and Pantony also finding the net.

Sam Knowles and Daniel Money were also on target for Fleet.

Eversley were due to host Ash United in the Aldershot Senior Cup last night (Tuesday) before returning to league action this Saturday with a home fixture against Worcester Park (3pm).

Sandhurst Town

SANDHURST Town slumped to a heavy 4-1 home defeat to leaders Bicester Town in Hellenic League Division One East on Saturday.

Bicester’s Elliott Powell did the damage as he scored all of his side’s goals, with two in each half in the Bottom Meadow clash.

Jonathan Malone pulled one back for the home side in the 93rd minute, but it was of little consolation to the Fizzers.

Sandhurst Town are back in league action tonight (Wednesday) when they entertain Camberley Town (7.45pm).

They are without a fixture this weekend.
