SANDHURST Town picked up four home points from six over the Bank Holiday with a thumping 6-1 win against Holyport and 2-2 draw with Wallingford Town in Hellenic Division One East.
There was little to choose between the Fizzers and Wallingford on Monday after a goalless first half at Stag Meadow. But when Brad Chalmers headed the visitors in front on 58 minutes it sparked a flurry of goals.
Will Wright made it 2-0 three minutes later, only for Adam Barnard to pull one back for Sandhurst from the penalty spot with 68 minutes gone.
Sandhurst completed their comeback thanks to a stunning Declan Allen free-kick with 13 minutes left which snatched a deserved point after Wallingford saw Jack McLaughlin sent off late in the game.
Fizzers went into that clash on the back of a 6-1 thrashing of Holyport on Saturday.
Sean Delfosse broke the deadlock on 23 minutes before Richard Hughes and Kylo Atkinson netted for a 3-0 lead at the break.
Barnard struck a fourth nine minutes into the second half before Atkinson scored twice more on 56 and 63 minutes to complete his hat-trick.
Holyport pulled one back through Nathan Green, but it was of little consolation.
Sandhurst travel to Milton United this Saturday (3pm).
- WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook maintained their 100% record in Hellenic Division One East with a 3-2 victory at Bicester Town on Saturday.
Ben Knight, Matthew Lambert and Sam Lawrence-Whiting were all on target for Dan Bateman’s Sumas, with Elliott Powell netting both of Bicester’s goals.
The victory leaves Sumas second in the table with three wins from three – all away from home. They trail leaders Penn & Tylers Green on goal difference and return to league action on Saturday, September 9 when they host Penn & Tylers.
- EVERSLEY & California have won all six Combined Counties Division One league games this season following a 3-2 home win over Raynes Park Vale on Saturday and a 3-1 victory at Cove on Monday.
Sam Hutchings and Lewis Robson were among the goalscorers against Cove, while Hutchings netted twice against Raynes Park before Cameron Miller netted a late winner.
Leaders Eversley go to Chessington & Hook this Saturday (3pm) then host Fleet Spurs next Tuesday (7.45pm)
