SECOND-PLACED Golden Farmer Rangers had a man-of-the-match performance from Brian Murphy to thank as they came out on top of a seven-goal Premier Division thriller at Binfield Club Athletic.

Bins had stormed into a 2-0 lead before half time, Tom Williams comfortably stroking home a penalty before Luke Angel’s pace saw him through one-on-one and the Binfield marksman finished with aplomb.

Stuart Kent managed to pull one back for Farmer from the spot early in the second, but Rory Angel almost immediately scored with a tap-in following a mix up in the Farmer defence to make it 3-1 Binfield.

Rangers continued to battle and Gary Bale eventually got them back into the game with a header from a Murphy long throw.

With just a few minutes remaining, a Murphy free-kick saw Dave Carpenter react quickest and the Farmer centre back’s bullet header pulled it back to 3-3.

The drama was not over and with almost the last kick of the game, Farmer’s player manager Garry Sargeant managed to get a knee in the way to deflect a Murphy header past Bins keeper Liam Blee to secure all three points for Farmer.

Elsewhere in the division, Braybrooke Athletic put up quite a fight at Raglan, although the basement boys eventually lost 3-2.

At the foot of Division One, 3M came out on top, beating bottom side AFC Crowthorne 4-1 – player manager Doug King coming off the bench to grab Crowthorne’s consolation while a Mark Tyler brace and goals from Rob Green and Glenn McDonald did the damage for the victors.

Crowthorne Inn have moved three points clear at the top after their 3-1 win at Whitegrove, but Intercity are having a poor run of form at the wrong time as the third-placed side lost 2-1 at home to Sandhurst FFC.

Bracknell Forest and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw and Winkfield FC won 2-1 at Ashridge Park, Adam Avis and Ricky Taylor scoring for Winks.

Division Two leaders Binfield Royals continued their excellent form as they won 8-1 at Winnersh Town.

Sean Hanley came off the bench to grab a brace, while the rest were shared between Liam Hartley, Sam Wilson, Harry Skinner, Myles White, Harry Arquimbau and Callum White.

Berkshire All Stars remain second as they beat Bracknell Athletic 5-1, Tommy Marshall bagging a double and Blake Brown-Koroma, Matt Scrace and Yusef Gois netting the others.

Berks County are up to fourth as they beat Club 8 4-0 with a brace from Sean Watson and goals from Steve Bland and Mitchell Webb, while Bracknell Saint-Germain held third placed WAB FC 2-2 – Dan Searle and Rui Miguel Costa da Silva on target for BSG. Newbold College conceded their game against Hope & Anchor.

Bearwood Wanderers won 3-2 at home to Bracknell Royals to move four points clear of Ashridge Park U21s at the top of Division Three.

Third-placed Woodley United Reserves have games in hand, but missed out on the opportunity to close the gap at the top as goals from Nathan Bingham and Luke Blakebrough were not enough to prevent them losing 3-2 at AFC Crowthorne Reserves.

Winnersh Rangers sit fourth and must fancy their chances as they also have games in hand and crushed Bracknell Falcons 6-0 with goals from Simon Meekings, Paudy Heal, James Evans, James Ebel, Oliver Wheeler and Cameron Miller.

Bracknell Titans beat Silver Birch 2-0 thanks to strikes from Dean Werrett and Chris Bolt, while FC Harmanswater came away from Finchampstead A with maximum points following their 5-2 win.

Chris Willis and Sam Williams both scored twice and Jack Buckland-Roll added the other.

In the clash of the bottom two, Bracknell Cavaliers U21s came out on top, beating basement boys Crownwood Dukes 3-2 in a five-goal thriller.

An extra-time strike from Robbie Ellis sealed Morale Madrid’s place in the Senior Cup final at the expense of Finchampstead as they advanced 1-0.

In difficult, blustery conditions neither side dominated possession and as a result neither keeper had a lot to do throughout.

Ellis finally broke the deadlock in the 98th minute with a low stooping header that went in off the post.

He then had a perfect opportunity to put the tie to bed with just 10 minutes remaining when Madrid were awarded a penalty, but his spot kick was blazed over the bar.

However, it ultimately did not matter.
