HURST face a battle for survival in the Premier Division after a 5-1 defeat to Unity on Saturday kept them rooted to the foot of the table.

The East Park Farm club will begin the New Year eight points behind second from bottom Taplow United, while the win consolidates 10th place for Unity.

Liam Bushay and Andrew Nichol both scored hat-tricks as top of the table Marlow United won 6-2 at Cookham Dean.

Second-placed Newbury remain just three points behind following their 3-1 win against Taplow. Daniel Langford scored either side of the break with Carl Jenner also on target. Substitute Tom Wilsely netted for the losing side.

Woodley United Reserves moved above Wraysbury Village after a 2-1 success, with Adrian Vazquez was among the goal scorers.

There was nothing to separate Highmoor Ibis Reserves and Rotherfield United in a 2-2 draw at the Ibis Club. Guy Bickerton was among Rotherfield’s scorers.

Mortimer made it through to the next round of the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup after a 4-3 win at Imaan Lions. Matthew Fox scored two in three second half minutes with Andrew Johnstone-Archer also netting. Aqeel Butt, George Dallarda and Kamran Khan scored for the Lions.

Reading YMCA recorded a 3-2 victory over Delaford at The Cauldron.

Division One

MAIDENHEAD Magpies moved level on points with leaders Eldon Celtic after a 9-1 win against Reading YMCA Rapids.

The Magpies also have a game in hand on the table toppers who beat Maidenhead Town 5-3 in the Senior Cup.

Third-placed Westwood United remain in contention for the title following their 5-1 victory at bottom of the table AFC Corinthians.

Cookham Dean Reserves conceded a home walkover win to Winnersh Rangers.

Division Two

CHASE Jacobs came off the bench to score a hat-trick as Finchampstead Reserves beat Wargrave 8-1 to consolidate top spot in Division Two.

Jason Baverstock, James Payne, David Powell and Alex Woodhead had all scored in the first half for the league leaders.

Westwood United Reserves are only behind on goal difference after their 5-0 win against Maidenhead Magpies Reserves. Daniel Nicholson scored twice at the Cotswold Sports Club with George Bullion and Thomas Bullion also on target.

Richard Dance and Dominic McKenzie both scored hat-tricks as Burghfield won 8-0 at bottom side Taplow United Reserves. Billy Margetts also helped himself to two goals for the winning team.

Barkham Athletic beat Goring United 4-0 at Cantley Park to remain fifth in the table. Goring stay eighth in the league standings.

Division 3

BERKS County Reserves extended their lead at the top to eight points following a 4-2 win against Hurst Reserves at the John Nike Stadium on Saturday.

Fourth-placed Ashridge Park closed the gap on third-in-the-table Harchester Hawks with a 2-0 victory at Cantley Park.

A Matthew Foreman brace plus goals from Garry Brown, Mark Cooper, Andy Miller and Joe Tallentire helped Brimpton to a 6-3 win against Maidenhead Town Reserves.

In the Berkshire Trophy Centre Intermediate Cup, Rotherfield United Reserves beat Unity Reserves 4-1. Bailey Fullbrook scored twice in the win with Andrew Hutt and substitute Brett Griffin also on target at Bishopswood.

Division 4

LEADERS South Reading thrashed bottom-of-the-table Harchester Hawks Reserves 11-1 at Laurel Park on Saturday.

Jordon Sawyer was the star of the show with four goals on the day.

Substitute Brett Rann also bagged a hat-trick while the other three were scored by Craig Choules, Jason Goddard and Ryan Holmes.

Harchester saw Ryan Garnett sent off in the third minute with the match goalless, before Jack Symmons netted a consolation effort.

It was a similar situation when struggling The Hop Leaf hosted second-in-the-table Twyford & Ruscombe at Cintra Park, the visitors winning 8-1.

Hurst A beat Wargrave Reserves 8-0 while Woodley United B suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Goring United Reserves.

In other fixtures, Braybrook beat Slough Heating 3-2 and Taplow United A were brushed aside by Willow Wanderers in a 6-0.
