WINDSOR CC's slim chances of winning Thames Valley Division 2A faded on Saturday after a disappointing draw with Eversley at Home Park.
Adam Weston's side had to win the fixture to maintain any chance of winning the title going into this weekend's final round of fixtures but failed to bowl their opponents out in the allotted 51 overs.
Whereas, Marlow's four wicket victory over Datchet at the Wally Gage Memorial Ground secured them the title and promotion to Division One next season with a now unassailable lead of 32 points.
McInerney (20) and Vishal Nair (8) got Windsor off to a bright start before four wickets fell in quick succession leaving the hosts reeling on 47-4.
A fifth wicket partnership of 59 between Wes Nichols (62) and Mark Huggins (46) helped restore the innings before Nichols added a further 39 with Ben Harris (26).
Windsor eventually posted a target of 200-9 of 45 overs with Phil Wise was the pick of the Eversley bowlers finishing with figures of 3-30.
A third wicket partnership of 28 between Alex Davidson (11) and Blair Lindsay (83) helped push Eversley's reply to 72-3 after a stuttering start.
Lindsay then put on 74 with Chris Last (43*) before the remainder of the order could only muster 16 runs between them.
The visitors finished on 188-7 with Nichols the pick of the Windsor bowlers with 2-42.
Windsor have already secured second placed in the division, 44 points ahead of this weekend's clash with local rivals Datchet.
