Manuel Pena Garces’ men welcome them to the Rivermead on Saturday (6.30pm) before playing their final game of the season away at Tees Valley Mohawks a week later.

Rockets are targeting a top four finish to guarentee a home tie in the play-off quarter finals, with two wins almost certain to guarentee them that.

Pena Garces’ men suffered a setback last week with a 83-69 defeat to Kent Crusaders but bounced back with victory at home to Westminster.

The Rockets boss now wants his almost fully fit squad to use Saturday’s defeat as motivation to ensure they record back-to-back victories and finish in the top four.

He said: “We need to make sure we use Saturday’s loss as a learning tool in preparing for these final two games and during the post season because I think this is the time to make small changes that will make a big difference.

“This Saturday we play a really well coached Team Northumbria and I have been really impressed with how they have applied themselves this season. Marc Steutel has done a great job in assembling a really good group and getting them to play a good style of basketball.” Rockets will go into the game confident after running out 73-59 winners at Westminster on Sunday to get back to winning ways.

A slow start saw the Rockets 15-10 down at the end of the first period but a 19-point second period salvo from Danny Carter ensured Rockets led 35-32 at the interval.

From then on it was plain sailing as the Rockets led 56-45 at the end of the third period and pushed on to seal a comfortable 73-59 victory.

Carter top scored with 34 points, 23 more than the Rockets’ next top scorer Deion Turman, who grabbed 11 points.

It was the perfect response to the defeat suffered at Crusaders on Saturday, with Carter again top scoring with 16 points.
