IT WAS a record breaking weekend for Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow athletes with three club records, a league record and a Northern Ireland record.

Competing for GB in an Under-20 International in Germany, Lawrence Clarke improved his own under-20 110m hurdles club record.

In the same event at the National Junior League match at Eton on Sunday, Ben Reynolds set a new Northern Ireland record of 13.82 seconds, also inside the European Championships qualifying mark.

It looks as though both the GB representatives in the European Under-20 Championships could come from WSEH.

Another to get under the European qualifying mark, setting a new under-20 decathlon club record in the process, was Ashley Bryant in the National Multi Events championships in Birmingham with a score of 7069 points.

Another record to add to the list by WSEH athletes at the weekend was at the British Masters Championships in Birmingham where Neil Griffin equalled the existing GB vet-60 masters record in the shot event with a throw of 14.21m, which is also a club vet-60 record.

The final club record and league record as well as female athlete of the match award went to Martha Reynolds who was streets ahead of her chasers in the 1,500m steeplechase in the match at Eton with a time of 5.08.87 to go top of the national rankings.
