MAIDENHEAD Athletic Club"s Gerry Killen tackled the tough 30km North Downs Run, finishing in a time of 2 hours 45 minutes and 2 seconds.
Eight Maidenhead AC runners completed the popular Wargrave 10k, first home was Paul Bradley with a time of 41 minutes 27 seconds, followed by Jim Tarrant (43.01), Tim Holt (43.36), Jeremy Lockett (44.00), Clyde McCrabbe (45.28), Neil Bennet (46.54), Carolyn Lockett (47.56) and Simon Emsley (52.38).
Several Maidenhead AC athletes were selected to represent the Borough at the Berkshire Schools Athletics Championships at Reading on Saturday. Keren Hollands added the Schools title to the County title she won last month with a fifth round 27.21m in the under-17 hammer, breaking her personal best by over two and a half metres.
Zoe Overall continued her run of good form with 24.00m in the under-15 discus to take second place.
On the track, Jane Allen finished fourth in her heat of the under-15 100m in 13.8, with Jess Davies sixth in the under-17 event in 15.6. Bryony Hollands ran 2.51.1 in the under-15 800m.
