Hollands set records

MAIDENHEAD Athletic Club"s Junior Athletes produced some excellent results at the Berkshire County Championships at Eton on Sunday.

Keren Hollands opened the competition in style with a new personal best and club record throw of 24.62m in the under-17 girls hammer event to claim the gold medal.

In the junior mens 100m, Malcolm Gledhill won the silver medal with a time of 11.4 seconds.

In the under-15 boys section, David Lambeth won the bronze shot medal with a new PB of 8.16m. Alexandre Young and David Lambeth both ran well in their 100m heats to book places in the final, where Young finished fourth and Lambeth fifth in times of 12.8 and 13.0 respectively.

Later on, Lambeth stormed home in the 200m final to claim his second bronze medal of the day with a new PB of 27.1. Young threw a new discus PB of 25.92m to claim the bronze medal and he launched the javelin 27.26m for fourth place and another best.

There was also success for the under under-15 girls. Sarah Hay jumped an impressive 1.40m in high jump to equal the club record and win the silver medal. Zoe Overall threw a PB of 20.53m in discus and finished in fourth place

In the under-13 boys quadrathlon event (75m, 600m, long jump and shot), James Dash produced some good results to finish a creditable sixth out of 16.
