DENNY Bulman believes he will take a step in the right direction when challenging for the White Collar Boxing middleweight British title on Saturday 29th September.

Bulman, 29, will take on Andrew Cosnett on the All Stars show at the Planet Ice Arena in Milton Keynes - the event will be broadcast on Sky television two months later.

The Slough-based start returned to the ring after a two-month break through injury with a unanimous decision win against John Sutton in Maidenhead on Saturday for star boy promotions.

He told the Observer: “I felt happy with my performance on the night and it was quite a comfortable victory.

“I could’ve done better but did what I needed to in order to get the win. I didn’t need to go for the knock-out or anything like that.

“I enjoyed getting back in the ring and I’ve missed the training. I needed it to keep me sane and have a goal in my head to move forward with.”

Bulman had been ruled out with a back problem but he believes he has found a way to manage the injury.

He explained: “It’s still there but I’ve had help through massage therapy so hopefully I’m able to get through it.

“I didn’t have it scanned but I went to see a physio because I wanted to get back to work and training.”

The two-time PowerBox Promotions champion wants to make a name for himself elsewhere.

He commented: “The All Stars show gives me the chance to box in a new arena and it’s another tick off my bucket list to get a fight on tv.

“I would’ve preferred it to happen a little further in the future but it’s hard to pass up these opportunities when they come around.

“I’ve been training for around five weeks already and am very nearly there weight-wise, so that won’t be a problem.

“It’s a step back in the right direction for me and I want to get a title back to my name. I want to win two or three titles in the next few months and have a rematch booked with Jon Pratt in December for the London super middleweight title so I’m building up towards that one.

“I enjoyed my time with PowerBox but my goal at the moment is aiming towards the London super middleweight title fight in December.”
