NEIL Baker has explained that Slough Town can take confidence into another tough match in the National League South this Saturday.

The Rebels travel to Eastbourne Borough looking to complete a hat-trick of league wins following victories against Chelmsford and Oxford City.

They added a win over Bournemouth Under-23s in a friendly match in midweek and want to see where their current form will take them.

Baker told the Observer: “Eastbourne got a 2-2 draw at Dartford last weekend and have had a brilliant start, losing just the one game.

“I get on really well with their manager (Jamie Howell) and he’s a top guy. He has set Eastbourne up to be difficult to beat, so we know it’s going to be tough.

“They use a 3G pitch as well so that’s a help because we’re used to it. We will go there and give it a real good shot.

“Winning two games on the bounce gives us that little bit of confidence so we can go to Eastbourne and enjoy it, plus try to come away with some points.”

Jon Underwood added: “It’s very close at the top and there’s not much between teams at the moment. All games are tough and there won’t be a lot in it again.

“Eastbourne are a good side with players that have Football League experience. They look to play football so it should be a good game between two evenly matched teams again.”
