READING FC defender Axel Andresson has penned a one-year contract extension - and immediately sealed a loan move to Norwegian outfit Viking Stavanger.

The fresh deal keeps the 20-year-old from Icelander at Madejski Stadium until summer 2020.

He will now spend the next few months with Vikings until the Norweigian season ends on November 11.

And his loan could be extended further if Vikings qualify for the play-offs in Norway's second tier.

It will be Andresson's third loan spell while at Reading, having played for Torquay United and Bath City in the past.

He has clocked up two senior appearances for the Royals which came against Gillingham and Millwall in the Carabao Cup last season.
