TWO Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow [WSEH] Athletics Club stars have been selected to compete in the forthcoming Manchester International event.

Ben Fisher will represent Great Britain in the long jump and Jake Norris in the hammer.

Three WSEH Athletes have been selected to represent their area schools teams at the UK School Games at Loughborough on Sunday, September 3.

Josh Zeller and Shaun Hudson will compete for the south, while Temi Ojora will represent the midlands.

Unfortunately the match clashes with the UK Athletics Youth Development League Finals in Birmingham on the same day, so the WSEH team will be somewhat weakened by their absence.

The club has two teams in action this weekend.

On Saturday, WSEH hosts the final match in their Southern League Division Two series, where both the senior men and women will be in action hoping to consolidate their table-top position to guarantee promotion into the top division. The match starts at midday.

Meanwhile, the top senior men travel to Manchester to compete in their final British Athletics League Division One match. The club needs a good result to maintain their Division One status.

WSEH had four athletes representing Great Britain at the World Championships in the Olympic Park Stadium last week, with varying degrees of success.

Rachel Wallader was the first to appear in the shot event on Tuesday. She was 12th in the qualifying round with a below-par distance of 16.81m, well short of her club record of 17.53m last year.

Shelayna Oskan-Clarke made it through to the semi-finals of the 800m but failed to progress into the final with her eighth place in 2:02.26, nearly four seconds below her club record set in 2016.

Morgan Lake successfully progressed into the final of the high jump but, though equalling her own club record of 1.95m, she had to settle for sixth place.

Ashley Bryant was the only Great Britain athlete in the decathlon and exceeded his target of 8,000 points. However, his 8,049 points tally was bellow his club record of 8,163 and saw him back in 11th place.
