The Laurel Park Under 14 girls team
THATCHAM & Newbury Town Ladies and Girls FC held their annual junior schools and club six-a-side tournaments recently, with a record 35 schools and 81 teams participating.
For the first time, Years 1/2 participated along with Years 3/4 and 5/6 and some excellent was football played.The winners of the Year 3/4 competition were Spurcroft, who beat Fir Tree in the final, while the Year 5/6 winners were Hermitage.
The clubs’ tournament was a great success and goes from strength to strength with the quality of the girls’ game improving every year.
The U10 winners were Thatcham & Newbury Girls, while Oxford City (U11), Wokingham & Emmbrook (U12), Hook Norton (U13), Laurel Park (U14) and Denham Ladies (U15) were also victorious.
