WARGRAVE crushed Finchampstead 3rds by 222 runs to make it two Division 3a wins from two, writes Richard Ashton.

Captain Neal Robinson (100no) and Michael Cowdell (76) led the way as the hosts amassed an impressive 267-5 in their 52 overs.

The Finch reply was a disaster with not a single player making double figures as they were bundled out for just 45, Mandip Sohi (7-13) and Huw Thomas (3-27) the chief beneficiaries.

Wargrave visit Newbury this Saturday (1pm).

Kidmore End were beaten by four wickets in a high-scoring Division 2a thriller at home to Chesham 2nds.

Tom Sheldon (75) and Guy Ashby (65) helped Kidmore post a competitive 267-9, but Mark Hughes-D’Aeth’s 63 fired Chesham home with 11 balls to spare.

Kidmore End visit Eversley on Saturday (1pm).

Hurst suffered a second straight Division 2b defeat as they went down by 129 runs to Slough 2nds.

The visitors racked up 312-9 and then bowled their opponents out for 183.

Hurst host Burnham 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

Sonning’s poor start to the season continued as they lost by seven wickets at Royal Ascot.

The visitors were skittled for just 128, and Ascot cruised home with 21 overs to spare.

Sonning host Thatcham Town this coming Saturday (1pm).

In Division 3a, Purley on Thames lost by two wickets in a cracker to Falkland 2nds.

The Potters were bowled out for 192, and David Bloor’s 69 helped the visitors edge home with just one ball to spare.

Purley on Thames visit Chiswick & Whitton on Saturday (1pm).

Theale & Tilehurst continued their perfect start to Division 4b with a six-wicket success against Marlow 2nds.

Graham Fisher (50) top scored as the home side were bowled out for 191, but James White’s unbeaten 51 ensured there were no problems for T&T (192-4).

Theale & Tilehurst visit British Airways this Saturday (1pm).

Kam Hanif made 41 for Wargrave 2nds, but they lost by seven wickets to Henley 3rds in Division 5b.

Wargrave were restricted to 162-9, and good knocks from Adam Lubbock (63no) and Alex Price (50no) saw the hosts to victory.

Sonning 2nds fell victim to an astonishing run chase as Farnham Common 2nds pulled off a five-wicket success in Division 6b.

Steve Mankee’s superb unbeaten 117 and a useful contribution from Mohammed Atif (66) fired Sonning to 283-5 declared after 46 overs, but the away side chased them down with time to spare.

Purley on Thames 2nds (190-9) lost by three wickets to Aldershot 3rds (191-7).

Phil Wiggins took 4-29 for Hurst 2nds (136), but they were beaten by 18 runs by Royal Ascot 3rds (154).

Mohammed Jamil took a fabulous 8-39, but still ended up on the losing side as Theale & Tilehurst 2nds went down to an agonising one-wicket reverse against Maidenhead & Bray 3rds in Division 7a.

T&T were knocked over for 129, but Jamil’s efforts ensured Maids were pushed all the way until they scraped over the line in 35.1 overs.

Azhar Udeen (5-62) impressed for Kidmore End 2nds (89), but they lost to North Maidenhead 3rds (167) by 78 runs.

Nazir Khan’s 51 was not enough for Sonning 3rds (158) as they were beaten by six wickets at Finchampstead 5ths in Division 8a.

Theale & Tilehurst 3rds (179-3) proved far too strong for Kew 4ths (178), James Martin’s unbeaten 86 proving key for the hosts.

Kidmore End 3rds (107) lost by 68 runs at Thatcham Town 4ths (175-8) in Division 9a, while Wargrave 3rds collected 25 points after Yateley 4ths conceded their game due to a lack of available players.
