THUNDERBIRDS 5 edged to a dramatic 23-22 victory against Tadley in the Reading District League.
The game started very evenly with each team converting their own centre passes, but despite many interceptions from Tadley GK, Stef Beattie, by the end of the first quarter Thunderbirds led 7-5.
Tadley hit back to level the score at 11-11 by half time, but Thunderbirds stepped up their game and moved 18-14 in front during the third quarter.
For the final 10 minutes Tadley worked hard to make up for the goals they had conceded and lots of accurate feeds were passed into the circle from Jess Alexander (C) and Annette Beattie (WA), enabling them to level at 22-22. However, despite their efforts a last-minute goal meant Thunderbirds were victorious.
Jess Alexander was Tadley’s player of the match, while Sarah Blount took the honours for Thunderbirds.
