FINCHAMPSTEAD Reserves reached the semi finals of the BTC Intermediate Cup with a 4-2 home success against Reading YMCA Rapids, writes Richard Ashton.

Luke Maskell put the Young Men in front on 19 minutes, only for Alex Woodhead to level before the break.

Nick Payne and David Powell made it 3-1 to Finch before Sam Larking pulled a goal back late on, only for James Payne’s injury-time strike to seal the victory.

Ashridge Park also advanced to the last four with a 7-1 victory at Highmoor Ibis U21, while Westwood United Reserves’ 3-1 triumph against Harchester Hawks put them in the quarter finals.

Extra-time goals from Jordan Cox and Lorenzo Medford helped Reading YMCA overcome Rotherfield United 2-0 in the Senior Cup, while FC Imaan Lions lost 1-0 in the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup quarter finals to Olney Town.

A Liam Bushay double and an Andrew Nicol strike gave Premier Division leaders Marlow United a 3-0 success at Unity, while basement boys Hurst stunned high-flying Newbury by earning a 2-2 home draw.

David Jackman and Peter Jones were on target for the strugglers, with Alex Nimmo and Carl Self netting for Newbury.

Jonny Summers and Sam Green struck for fourth-placed Woodcote Stoke Row, and allied to an own goal, Ross Weatherstone’s men won 3-2 at Woodley United Reserves. Adrian Vazquez scored for the hosts.

Matt Dawson, Matt Druce, Ben Harvey, Marvin Hinds and Jack Shea all scored as Taplow United eased their relegation fears with a 5-3 derby success against Wraysbury Village.

Cookham Dean won 4-0 at Berks County and Highmoor Ibis prevailed 3-1 at Mortimer.

Maidenhead Magpies became favourites for the Division One title after beating leaders Eldon Celtic 1-0 in their top-of-the-table clash, leaving Magpies three points adrift but with two games in hand.

Frilsham & Yattendon drew 2-2 with Westwood United and Cookham Dean Reserves crushed Mortimer Reserves 6-0.

In Division Two, Tom Wisely scored for Taplow United Reserves, but they lost 4-1 at home to table-topping White Eagles.

Patrick Dyer got Goring United’s goal in their 1-1 draw with Wargrave, while Ryan Corbett and Tom Brownlow helped Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves draw 2-2 at home to Barkham Athletic.

Maidenhead Magpies Reserves conceded their game at Burghfield FC.

Tom Hitchcock scored for second-placed Newbury Reserves, but they were stunned 4-2 by Woodley United A in Division Three.

Brimpton obliterated White Eagles Reserves 11-2 and Hurst Reserves drew 2-2 with Maidenhead Town Reserves 2-2.

In Division Four, Ibrahim Koroma, Craig Priest and Liam Goddard goals earned leaders South Reading a 3-2 success at Wargrave Reserves.

A Matt Swain brace and goals from Dan Saunders and Christopher Searle gave Berks County Rovers a 4-0 win at Harchester Hawks Reserves, while a Mikey Jones strike was not enough for Twyford & Ruscombe as they lost 4-1 at AFC Corinthians A.

A superb Charlie Scope hat-trick and a goal from Blake Brown-Koroma gave Hurst A a 4-0 victory against Taplow United A, and Braybrooke defeated Woodley United B 2-1.
