SLOUGH Town joint-manager Jon Underwood hopes that a win against Weymouth will reignite their push for promotion this season.

The Rebels welcome Weymouth to Arbour Park tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm) following a 1-0 home win against Dunstable Town on Saturday.

Underwood admitted that Slough were not at their best last weekend and knows a visit from the Terras will be more difficult, but he hopes that victory would improve confidence and consistency.

"What we need to do is try to get a little run of wins," he told the Observer. "It will be a very difficult game but if we can get a win confidence will start to grown again and we can get ourselves on a run.

"It will be difficult. Weymouth won 6-1 at Basingstoke on Saturday so it will be a tough game, but a good one against a good side.

"I will take a 1-0 and a poor performance tonight any day.

"When Weymouth play well they play very well. They've got some real threats going forward and will be the sort of side that are comfortable playing on this pitch. They like to pop the ball around.

"It will be be a really good game. The difference is when some sides come to Arbour Park they're quite happy for the game to be scrappy and slow, but Weymouth will have a go at us and we will have a go at them.

"They should be higher than they are, everyone says that about them. With the players they've got they should be higher than they are."

Underwood continued: "We're looking to try and get a bit of consistency with our performances. It has been a bit up and down.

"Our view is if you get your performances consistent the results will come, but it's always about the results. That's what we're judged on and gets you the points on the board.

"You've only got to look at the other results on Saturday. Leamington dropped two points but everyone else up the top of the table won.

"There are lots of games coming up where teams play each other that are in and around the top, so if we find that bit of consistency, I'm confident we will be in the play-off positions come the end of the season.

"I would love to say the title, and we're still in with a shout, but we need to play a lot better than we are at the moment if I'm honest."

Slough defender Dan Hicks has joined Ryman Premier Division club Harrow Borough on a one-month loan deal.
