ARCHIE Smith won Division One of the Weekend Stableford at Caversham Heath on Sunday.

Smith (5hcp) scored 37 points to take the honours by two points from runner-up David Weise (8hcp). He edged out Phil Booth (7hcp).

Division Two was also a close run thing, with Lee Kirton (14hcp) coming out on top with 43 points.

Second was Jack Turrill (11hcp) with 42 points and third was Gary King (11hcp) with 41 points.

In Division Three, Daniel Dover (20hcp) edged out his wife, Caroline (27hcp), and Gordon Berry (19hcp) – all players with on 37 points.

Twos were recorded by John Endersby and Lee Kirton (8th hole) and by Matt Gibson, Andy King, Greg Terefenko and Jon Winstanley (17th).

  • THE 20 Section captain, Steve Cox, held his Captain’s Day Stableford competition at Calcot Park on Saturday.

Harji Bhanderi won with a very impressive 45 points, ahead of James Strang (40 points) and Mark Maciw (39).

The Nearest the Pin competition on the 17th was won by Drew Selwood and the straightest drive on the 12th was won by Phil Mead.

The club’s first team, captained by James Darvall, whitewashed Weybrook Park 7-0 on Saturday, leaving them needing 1.5 points from two games to win the Scratch League.
